Food and Nutrition


No More Empty Pots

No More Empty Pots is a grassroots non-profit corporation that connects individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resilience of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action. NMEP has program in which they provide food support to community members. Fill out the intake form here.




Omaha Metro Food Pantries

Click the image to access an extensive list of food pantries in the Omaha metro area. This site also provides information on food closets, food banks, soup kitchens, congregate meal locations, food boxes, vouchers, etc; with hours and locations as well.




Whispering Roots

Whispering Roots, in collaboration with area food coalitions and Nebraska Tribes, has worked to deliver food to the most vulnerable including the elderly, immunocompromised, quarantined, disabled, and families or individuals who lack access to transportation, traditional emergency food outlets and the like, through our nonprofit efforts. Housing Resources


Bethlehem House

Bethlehem House provides pregnant and parenting women in crisis with a home, hope, and empowerment through the life-affirming services that they offer. They understand the importance of exemplifying what a healthy family and community looks like, feels like, and functions like. MACCH

The Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless (MACCH) is a collective impact homeless services organization serving Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa.




Catholic Charities of Omaha

Sheltering services for survivors and their children provide a secure, temporary place to stay along with care and support as they regain control to make decisions about their future. They have 3 locations in Omaha and a domestic violence crisis hotline available 24/7 at (402) 558-5700.




Stephen Center

Stephen Center partners with the community, families and individuals to overcome homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges. Among their programs and services, they offer addiction and recovery services, permanent supportive housing, and an emergency shelter facility with separate men's, women's and family shelter units.The Stephen Center is located in South Omaha, at 27th and Q Sts.



Women's Center for Advancement

The WCA assists anyone in the Omaha area who is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking. Their free, high-quality services address our clients’ immediate safety needs and help them to grow into independence over time. They are located off 38th and Harney in Omaha. Family Services


Heartland Family Service

The mission of Heartland Family Service is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through advocacy, education, counseling, and support services. Their programs provide critical human services to the individuals and families who ultimately shape the future of our community in the following program focus areas: Child & Family Well-Being, Counseling & Prevention, and Housing, Safety, & Financial Stability.



Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership

ENCAP helps individuals and families build the skills, hope, and social capital they need to envision and work toward a brighter future. ENCAP provides basic needs services like food support and financial assistance to get households out of immediate crisis, followed by next step supportive services to help the household move toward longer-term stability.''
